Funny thing this. I have never before thought about the games I played the most, when I had my first Amstrad, which was a CPC 664 back in 1987 or 1988.
Here is the ten games I played the most back then. Some of them I owned as originals on either tape or disc, while others were hacked copies I got from friends.
And this is in no particular order, mind you,
1. Renegade 2. Gryzor 3. Bombjack (played this A LOT) 4. Buggy Boy 5. Exolon 6. Grand Prix Simulator 7. Ikari Warriors 8. Dizzy 9. Subsunk 10. Seabase Delta
I didn't finish the last two until last month, mind you. I have refused using the different ways of getting help through solutions on the net. So one weekend I found the games on an old disc and I finished both straight out over the course of two days.

Top ten lists are always SOOO hard to do, when you think back and consider how many funky games there were! Anyways, I thought of these little gems: 1. Barbarian <-- best game ever, on any format! 2. Bruce Lee 3. Gryzor <-- Graphics were SO sweet! 4. Way of the Exploding Fist 5. Ikari Warriors 6. Slapshot 7. Legend of Kage <-- always played in black and white on my CPC! 8. Green Beret <-- slightly let down by the "scrolling" 9. Renegade 10. Commando other contenders: Karnov, Who Dares Wins II, F1 Simulator (by Mastertronic).... Of course, the list could go on and on.. these guys are the games I played lots when I was a kid, although Barbarian, Bruce Lee and Exploding Fist will always be my fave games, ever. Barbarian on the CPC was the best version on any format, and in my opinion was better that even its 16-bit counterparts. (I have it on the Amiga and its nice, but you cant beat the CPC for atmosphere..) These games remain the best, even to present day, until the mighty Tekken 4 was released. Now it ties all 4 games as my faves long live the CPC! Dave

my faves are...
1 armageddon man 2 warzone (sadly now missing) 3 north and south 4 rebelstar 5 wild bunch 6 heroquest and sequel, space crusade 7 tank attack 8 180 (darts) or jocky wilson compendium 9 simcity 10 bombjack (played this a lot)
i have heard lazer squad is good but cant get my copy to work - i remember it stating in amstrad action that there is a mistake that means the loading file is not under what is stated (can anyone help)
i have never actually played lemmings on the cpc, my version doesnt work but i bet its great, im sure there are more as well which i cant think of right now

10 is always tricky... in no particular order:
1. Spindizzy - Still as compellingly addictive as ever!
2. The Lurking Horror - THE greatest adventure game ever IMHO.
3. Jet Set Willy - one of the first games I ever got for my CPC and I'm still playing it today (albeit on an emu!)
4. Yes Prime Minister - Funny, intelligent and different
5. Night Shift - Compelling tricky puzzle game
6. Gryzor - the ultimate in one more go gameplay
7. Kane - loved it as a kid
8. Emlyn Hughes International Soccer - Still better than FIFA!!!
9. Auf Weidersehn Monty - great for exploring
10. Bruce Lee - the first game I ever completed and yet I still went back time and time again.

Ooh tough one, but narrowed it down to :
1) Lazer Squad 2) Gryzor (bought the In Crowd compilation just for this) 3) Robocop (best arcade conversion ever) 4) Emlyn Hughes Soccer 5) Operation Wolf 6) Target Renegade 7) Head over Heels 8) Ikari Warriors 9) The Eidolon 10) Arkanoid
Lazer Squad is easily the bestest, most underated game ever. You can still play it today and its every bit as good.
