Once there was an MSDOS emulator for the CPC6128. It contained 512k RAM, an 8088 Intel, one or two 5.25" floppies a few ROMs and was fitted through a 50 pole ribbon cable to the Expansion port of CPC. User could shift from CPC to IBM PC mode using the RSX |PC command. This Emulator was constructed in Gremany but was never sold due to its high cost. It was named PC-Hormon
Anybody knows who was the manufacturer ? Any info about this project ?

Hi Hans,
I know, it was tested by Happy Computer, I think it was not an April Fool, it was reality as there was also a reference in a greek Magazine (PIXEL) for this emulator.
The main problem was that one could buy an Euro PC instead of the emulator at the same cost. If you also take into consideration that EURO PC was a ... beautiful CPC, then PC-Hormon had no Future.
But nowdays it would be very interesting to experiment with such an emulator. It would also cost less.
Have to find the manufaturer...

I design and build hardware for my 6128. If anyone has the plans and software, I´ll see if I can run one up.

Thanx Ian for your reply. Unfortunetely there are is no information about this project...
But you could help me on this:
Is it possible to attach a PC mouse (the one with the D-type connector like CPC Joystick) on the Amstrad ?
If we make a few modifications on cabling it may work!
What do you think ?
