Hi all,
I've been on a hunt to find hardware information on the CPC464.
I want to build a floppy disk interface and an IDE interface (I've already built one for my Speccy, now my CPC feels left out).
I've found alot of sites with this kinda hardware info but they have always been in languages other than english and translators havent been much use.
Does anyone know a good source for this kind of information? Preferably somewhere with wiring diagrams, shematics etc.
Thanks

Hello, In case you want to built your own:I did a quick search and found some general info here: membres.lycos.fr/cpcland/cpc/info.htmand several schematics at the same site: membres.lycos.fr/cpcland/schema/There is a "CPC 6128 Service Manual" (12.8 MB, I guess it's in English) downloadable from: www.amstrad.dk/Manuals_Tech.htmwhich it may (or may not) contain some schematics. Also I once downloaded a CPC schematic (I think it's of the 6128) just out of curiosity (I know close to nothing about hardware design), but I can't remember it's original source: img117.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img117ℑ=schemacpchuffman2gn.pngHowever, in case you didn't know there is already a HDD interface project under way called Symbiface II: www.prodatron.net/symbiface.htmand reading from genesis8.free.fr/index.phpregarding this project: "The price of the full version will be around 100 Euros, but some parts will be optional. Because of the extended design the release is delayed. The mass production should start in the middle of februar, so you need a little bit more patience." On the other hand the more the better!! Cheers PS: Connecting a modern 3.5" 1.44MB floppy drive has already been done and shouldn't be as difficult as the HDD thing. Do a little search like: (CPC OR Amstrad) AND (floppy OR "external floppy") or something similar on www.metacrawler.com and you should find some info. Or you could just get a 3.5" 720KB drive off an auction site... I hope I've been at least of some help

I came across an old add-on recently if you are interested. It's a Micro Power Rom Card. Holds 7 memory chips, and slots into the 464/664 console. Sorry no instructions.
