Hey, I've recently been amusing myself by playing all the the Amstrad games I had as a kid, but there is one of which the name eludes me. I'll describe it as best I can from memory, there's not much: 1st level: On a horse, side-scrolling, riding along side a train (cowboys, western?) people at the windows probably trying to stop you.
After this section you're on top of the train, on each carriage is an enemy who is either shooting or throwing stuff at you and I think the most you can do is duck to avoid it, gradually inching closer and closer to them. This is about as much as I remember, I think some had shotguns and others threw coal at you with a spade? If this jogs anyone's memory please let me know.. it's driving me insane.

Sounds like it could be North and South? American civil war game.

sorry for the false lead back there! I just checked out Express Raider. I think it is joystick only, I've got the joystick controls mapped to my numpad on Caprice (this might be the default actually, try pressing "0" which I've set to fire 1 on mine.) Anyway, you can change the joystick mapping through one of the options screens on Caprice, I forget which. The game plays fine. Quite fun actually!

No problem rob! I took the effort to find my joystick and got the game to work ;D My joystick seems to be a little TOO responsive, but nevermind. Thanks to everyone who at least replied! I have another game I need to name, but i'll bore you with that one later.
